Clopha Boudreaux

One time caller to Jon Fine’s sports talk show in Lake Charles in 1980’s.  Since Jon was relatively new to Louisiana and not indoctrinated yet into the native tongue, he understood very little of what Clopha was saying…It is hoped that Clopha’s taste in radio programming has improved since then…Clopha does show impeccable taste for southwest Louisiana’s cuisine.  In fact, rumor has it that Clopha reportedly used to turn in lavish receipts for food expenses on Sulphur HS Football road trips, until Bruce Merchant put a stop to this by buying the station…Sulphur native, 1976 graduate of Sulphur HS…Played for legendary SHS coach Shannon Suarez…Has helped Sulphur become a thriving metropolis by working for the city for over 30 years…Might be able to be mayor of Sulphur, but feels it would infringe on this time covering Sulphur HS sports…Part-time volunteer coach at SHS:  Basketball and Golf…Has been color commentator on Sulphur HS games with play-by-play announcer Bruce Merchant since 1998…Distinctive voice is very popular…with his family…well, some of his family…okay, his wife…nah, not her…but with thousands of SHS football fans!!...With Sulphur football heard on SportsGumbo.net and available world-wide, there is the possibility that thousands of children throughout the world are named Clopha.
