Dr. Hunter Bond
Self-proclaimed “hardest working man in Show Business” and the man who is “bringing back sexy to Denham Springs HS broadcasts, via Big Mike Sports Bar & Grille”, Hunter made these statements before he even went on the air with his very first 2011 broadcast….Had served as color commentator and as a fill-in announcer in prior years before having ignominious distinction of working full-time with Jon in 2011…Former Jacket standout defensive back in early 80’s, Jon Fine Sports Productions researchers are still trying to verify that he did graduate from DSHS…Played with another star DB, Dr. Michael Sceroler. His sign is above Dr. Sceroler’s on Denham scoreboard. Jon tries to cause controversy between the 2 on this matter…Maintains that he is the career leader in interceptions in DSHS school history. School records indicate that present Jackets coach Dru Nettles is the record holder. Jon has tried to stir up friction between the 2 on this matter…Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1989. Starred on 2 national champion flag football teams at SLU. Surprisingly, has yet to assert that he holds the school INT records…’96 graduate of Pennsylvania College of Optometry…Founded The Bond Eye Clinic in 1996…Partnered up with Dr. Chris Wroten in 2005 to form The Bond-Wroten Eye Clinic…Has 3 locations—Denham Springs, Amite and Hammond…Reluctantly puts up with Jon as a patient…Jon would prefer to be treated by Dr. Sarah Wroten (Chris’ wife)…Will bring 2 hamburgers to broadcasting booth and give Jon one. Hunter’s predecessors would also bring up 2 hamburgers to press box, but would eat both of them…Tremendous backer of DSHS athletics and great sponsor of our DSHS programming…Real unpretentious for someone who has accomplished so much in life…Recently submitted 4-page resume. Astonishingly, working with Jon did not make the cut.
Dr. Hunter Bond serves as color commentator on Denham Springs HS Football broadcasts on The Score, 1210AM, Baton Rouge and on the Net at SportsGumbo.net.
