Tut Musemeche
Now one of the Musemeche Media Moguls with weekly appearance on Plaquemine Sports Weekly…Dad, John, was an award-winning writer for The Advocate and penned the first-ever book on Pete Maravich…With television pbp announcer/producer brother Rob, the Musemeches are now the Louisiana high school football version of the NBA’s Van Gundy family…Yet Tut has done such a good job on Plaquemine Sports Weekly there are rumors going around that brother Rob may be concerned for his job…2 decades as a high school coach in Baton Rouge area, winning Football Metro Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2009… St. Michaels won its only District Championship and first ever winning season under Tut in 2003 season…Also Head Baseball coach at Tara for 7 years, before making transition to football in 2001…Was a coordinator at Skip Bertman’s summer camps…All of this leads to reasonable speculation that Coach Tut’s ulterior motive in joining Plaquemine Sports Weekly was to pick Denny Wright’s brains and make a transition to coaching a third sport--Basketball…Graduate of Woodlawn HS and Southeastern Louisiana…outkicked his coverage with marriage to Karon (a former Miss June in University of Alabama school calendar)…some would say there is not enough months in year for Tut to receive such honors (despite the very best efforts of John and Rob at Musemeche Photography)…Karon’s favorite football coach (besides Tut…maybe) is Nick Saban as she is a big Alabama fan. Can get awful testy in Musemeche household the week of the LSU-Alabama game as Tut is a big fan of the Tigers…Real first name is Barry…Has not yet asked Jon for travel cost reimbursement for long drive from St. John HS to Plaquemine HS, where the show originates from each week.
Tut Musemeche co-hosts Plaquemine Sports Weekly, Tuesdays, 8am-9am on KKAY, 1590AM, River Parishes/Baton Rouge and on the Net at SportsGumbo.net
